Tamango National Park

Tamango National Park

A little-visited park near Cochrane (4km away), easily accessible on a bicycle with nice and easy walking path (ranging from 4h to a few days). There are really neat campsites (albeit without warm showers).
In addition, you can easily spot there wildlife: the streams and lakes are so clear that you can easily spot trouts, if you look up the sky you can watch condors flying, and in the forest it is not too difficult to see some huemules (the local native deer).

The weather was not so good all around (but) Cochrane, it was as if the little valley had a micro-climate. We were quite lucky also until Rio Bravo (after the ferry from Puerto Yungai), we had blue sky or sometimes cloudy, but no rain. As much as we were lucky on that part, we would get back all the unluck in one day! Jean-Christophe
