Ingredients for a jungle picknick

Ingredients for a jungle picknick
"Sticky rice" probably the main ingredient of every meal in Laos. And why "sticky"? Because it is! :-) You eat it with your hands, making little balls of it and dipping it into spicy sauces.
Some vegetables (boiled), unfortunately we didn't manage to find out what they are called in English yet, but they are good.
Sausages: made of pork and often mixed with rice.
Very spicy, with some herbs, lots of chili and vegetables (sorry don't know the even the Lao name). You can buy it at local markets to accompany your rice.
Chili-sauce, home-made by our guide
Sauce of vegetables and chili with buffalo-skin...

@Marmot & PirAnja: I was going to add the "ingredients" but the connection was soooooooo slow yesterday evening here (with Flickr "crashing down" several times due to the slow connection) that I was just happy to have them uploaded and go home, so I didn't add any comments. :-) Vera

Thanks for the info. That's a lot of spicy chili here, but it sounds and looks interesting.

I liked everything, only the buffalo-skin was eatable but not what I would love to eat everyday! On the counter part, the chili sauce was definitively delicious. Jean-Christophe PS: the next day for the pick nick we had liver and heart of Jungle cat grilled over the fire. It just taste like normal liver and heart, and though I was not happy to eat cat (esp. a jungle one for environment reason), I had to in order to please my host.
